8:30PM - Oy vey....
I am a complete and utter idget... Yesterday, I left my headlights on while in class. As expected, when I came back out, my battery was completely dead. I could have sworn I had jumper cables in that car as well. In fact, I distinctly remember buying cables specifically for this car last summer. Apparently, someone took them out at some point. To the credit of the other students, at least 4 people offered to give me a jump start if I had cables they could use. It was very nice of them to offer.
I called campus security and let them know what was happening. There's a service the school provides for such situations where they'll send someone over to jumpstart your car at no charge. What I didn't know was they apparently call an outside towing company (?!) to come over and jumpstart the car for free. Um, yeah. A towing company coming to a school for a jumpstart at no cost? I didn't see that happening. And I was right. After 2 hours of waiting, no one showed up. I finally had to call my mom to come help, which made me feel like such a bastard. She was sick and couldn't even go to the supermarket for food. I was going to go after class.
So yeah, got the car jumped, drove home fine. I just kinda hit the couch after I got home and fell asleep until... 2am. Heh. Slept all during that class that morning, too, since the teacher just went on a 3 hour rant about autopsies and cremations and this other stuff that had nothing to do with the class. Wasn't even anything interesting concerning the subjects... Man, what a waste.

Yeah, I suck at updating this.
School's going rather well this semester so far. I finally feel like I have a plan of attack as far as my academic career goes. Now I just have to follow through with it correctly. For now, I'm just going to focus on retaking what classes I need to and raising my GPA, which is surprisingly going better than I had thought thus far.
I'm going to see if I can regain contact with some of the English teachers who apparently like me enough to ask my sister about my progress regularly. If they can help put in a good word for me in the future, that would be really awesome. I'm also going to see if I can contact the new band director at the high school... maybe I can help out with Band Camp and get some experience
plus yelling at kids in sweltering heat is always fun~.
Heh. I've completely lost contact with just about everyone. It's pretty sad actually. Maybe if I remember to update this thing more that'll change. Maybe.
As a small side note, for some reason I've got this horrible feeling of dread that's been lingering in the pit of my stomach. I can't tell why I'm feeling this way, but it's got me very worried... Probably me just being paranoid.

What the heck would school be without four guys trying desperately to run down the the walkway by the basketball courts with a massive trampoline? And looking like they're actually trying to be inconspicuous at that?
That was rather interesting.
Actual update when I get home from work maybe?

...You know what? I don't know why the hell I even bother anymore. It's always goddamn something. I should really take my own advice once in a while and just be an asshole.

...I need new icons on this thing. I only like some of them....
I made the effort to go visit Sally today. We had a brief but nice chat. I ave to remember to visit her a bit more. But she gave me the idea of volunteer tutoring at a high school... Now I'm a bit tempted, though I should really concentrate on school and paid work right now. But Sally said if I went for it and GPA turned out to be an issue, she'd write me a letter of recommendation. That is so awesome and really made my day.
Depending on how this semester goes, I may or may not take the next one off.
I left my journalism notebook at home... I have extras cause for some reason I walk around with about four of them, but I was doing such a good job keeping my notes organized... Speaking of which, class in 30 minutes, so foood!

What the hell are "Mango-flavored pineapples?!" If you want mangoes, you should just buy the damn mangoes!
On that note, I haven't updated this thing in so long... I fail at keeping up with my personal journals it seems.
The new job is really boring. There's not really anything for me to do, so I basically BS my way through the days. Everyone seems fine with this, so I guess it's no problem. I'm also apparently one of the most computer literate people there, and the doctor likes to have me install stuff and set up new computers and so on.
I went to Ozzfest a few days ago. Aside from Ozzy, there wasn't anyone I wanted to see. Still, it was fun to hang around with thelastonealive, Amanda, and her friend Joanna.
Oh yeah, and for some blasted reason, I ended up getting that stupid "Hard Rock Hallelujah" song stuck in my head yesterday. I really do hate that song.... I don't know why it popped up like that...
Yeah, nothing else new. I'm still confused over the boxes of mango-pineapple hybrids and why they are in the house.

Woooooooo! I got the job at the optometrist! I start... tomorrow! I should be on in the evening though. It seems like it'll be a comfortable job, at least. Man, am I happy.
Sunday, July 15, 2007
The optometrist office called me back yesterday, and I've got an interview tomorrow! Woo! I really didn't want to get back into doctor's offices, but yeah. I have no right to complain really. Better than no job. Though if AAA calls me, I'll see if I can schedule an interview with them. Chances are this optometrist will pay me the same as the last one did, which was not much. Anywho, here's hoping.

I went job hunting! Woooo! Applied to AAA online, left my number and information at an optomitrist's office, and picked up an app at Gamestop. I actually ran into my friend Jay at Gamestop, and I haven't seen him in 2-3 years. Man, it was great seeing him again. We have to talk more.

Alright. Jelly's going to be okay. She apparently doesn't have a fractured leg but a fratured pelvis (which sounds worse to me). The vet said it would be able to heal on its own, but it would take 6 months to fully heal. For at least the first three months, she's got to stay in the tank. No free roaming for her for a while.
This wouldn't be so much of a problem, but she apparently has eggs. I forgot it was that time of the year. She has at least 5, and she has to pass them within the next 4 weeks. Hopefully, the pelvis will be recovered enough to pass them within that time. If not, then they WILL have to do surgery to take the eggs out. Here's hoping that won't happen.
As far as my dad's car goes, it's totaled. He'll have to get a new one. Luckily his hours have changed, so he's going to be working evening shifts. He's gonna be taking my car at night until he gets his own, I think.

I meant to get on earlier to catch up with stuff, but got caught up in reading a book. Then all of a sudden, my sister barges into my room telling me Jelly (our lizard) has a broken leg. My dad had taken my car to deal with some stuff, so I wasn't able to take her right away. Thankfully, thelastonealive was nice enough to take us there. Last I heard, she has a huge fracture around the hip. I'm going to be leaving in a little bit to go see the results. I hope she's okay.
Oh, yeah. And I'm back, hahaha. Obviously. I'll write more about the trip some time later or tomorrow.

Happy Birthday, thegreatcreator! I will definitely try to get over to the dinner tonight, even if just for a little while~
I'm going to be leaving to visit my grandma really early on Wednesday morning. I'll sleep on the plane. I hope my sister doesn't have problems with her ears like she did the last time. That was really awful.
We should be getting back some time in the evening on July 4. With the way my mom gets during these trips, I have a feeling this will not be fun at all. As long as we can take care of grandma a bit, it should be fine. I'll see if I can bring a disposable camera maybe. Apparently everyone in the house is under the agreement that we're smuggling some rum and some of those... addictive green fruit things back.
I'll be eating those for the week probably.
Eh, and now I'm rambling. I will be back on July 5!

Yesterday was my dad's birthday (man, he's getting old), and he demanded out of nowhere that I run out and buy him a chocolate ice cream cake. So, that's what I did. It didn't even last to today XP We're all such pigs.
In a week or so, I'll be leaving to go visit Grandma. We're going to be there for only a week. We're calling it a vacation, but we're really going over there to visit and help take care of her. She's been getting sick a lot lately. Still, I hope we get to go hiking at least once. She lives in a very forest-y area which is really beautiful.
The St. Joe's festival's here this week, so I'll probably be going with thelastonealive on Thursday. It's at least worth going to for one night.

Finally got the goddamn crowns. Man am I happy I don't have to go back there until October. Oy.
In other news, I had a recent bout of insanity in which I just suddenly started cleaning my room for no reason at all. Weird.
Yeah, nothing else is happening.

Grandma got sick with something. I should probably ask what it was, but she had to go to the hospital for it and get I.V. She's still sick but she was sent back home yesterday, and a neighbor friend is taking care of her until my aunt can. She should be okay now, hopefully.
I remembered suddenly in the middle of the day that I was supposed to do to the dentist to get the finished caps put on. Only thing is that when I went, they said that the size they took before would have been too big and they needed to grind down my teeth. Again. So I'm in a world of pain. Again XD Actual caps will come in another 10 days.

Yesterday, I went to NY with thelastonealive and Amanda. Went to the Rockefeller center and walked around a bit (got some amazingly good chocolates), then we all went to Dave & Buster's and spent the rest of the day there. It was a lot of fun.
I was actually starting to think I wouldn't be able to come online this weekend. The parents are having a massive fight of mythical proportions. I don't think I've seen them fight this badly. Stupid to say I'm kinda scared to be on this floor of the house. Wish the computer was back upstairs. Oh well...
Oh yeah, the new Muse cd is amazing. I need to listen to the whole thing, but I am really loving what I've heard.

Ah, so I finally looked up my grades...
Short Stories - B+
Film History - C
Animation - C
Public Speaking - F
I knew I was failing that class, man. The kids I thought did absolutely amazing work got Cs and Ds, so I KNEW I was getting lower. Damn that guy is nitpicky. ...Well anyway, guess that goes on the list of "Classes to Retake."
I also finally decided to drop the Education portion of my major. It's just going to take too damn long to graduate if I keep it... So I'm just going to be an English major (Emphasis on Writing option) and a Media Arts minor. I've probably taken a large majority of the classes I need for that already, so maybe I'll be able to graduate in a year or two? That'd sure be nice, hahaha.

Hahaha! I didn't sleep at all last night, but I'm insanely hyper. I stayed up all night writing, except for when my hand started to hurt way too much; then I read until it felt better. I think I filled up half a notebook full of shit.
Anyway, aside from not sleeping, I'm up early cause today is part one of operation 'Getting Caps.' Appointment's in an hour and a half. My two front teeth have bonding cause they were broken in an asinine incident when I was younger. So I'm finally getting caps which will be a bit more permanent than just bonding.
Today, they're forcing the bonding off and then grinding down what I have left, which sounds like oodles of fun. Then they're putting in new bonding and taking measurements. In two weeks, the ordered caps will be in, they'll force off the bonding AGAIN, and then put the caps on. I'm more worried about today, since they're pretty sensitive without the bonding, so the idea of grinding them down doesn't sound too pleasant.
Mom told me to take aspirin before I go, but aspirin makes you bleed more, doesn't it? Meh. Speaking of blood, I have to also head off to the doctor today for blood results. Last results showed that I'm basically back to normal. This test is to check for other chemical irregularities and whatnot to see if those are okay, too.
And now, off I go!

1) Comment and I'll pick one of your LJ interests and make you an icon.
2) You have absolutely no say in what I make.
You can pick between having a normal icon or an animated icon. I dunno how to make animated, so normal only XD.
4) If you do partake in it, please put this in your LJ so I can do the same to you.
(cross-posted to the_demon_yuber cause I feel like using both...)
There are other time wasting things I should have put up long ago but forgot to. I'll do so some other time. =P

11:40AM - Wooo?
Ah crap, so it IS the last week of school. I might end up staying after classes more often than usual this week.
Short Stories final was today, and man, he made the essays harder and longer... my hand hurts.
Why do I think at least two people snickered at that sentence? Dr. Gover also talked to his chair heh, and I managed to get an extra credit assignment to make up for my horrendous Brit Lit I grade.
5-page paper. On anything that had to do with that class. Broad. Don't know what I'm going to do, but at least he gave me this chance, which is awesome. It has to be in his hands by the end of Summer I. So, I'll get working on that asap before I end up forgetting about it.
( More Me Musing to MyselfCollapse )
Uhh... sooo... I guess I'll go study for my other final that I'm taking in... 30 minutes.
